A Day You'll Never Forget on Ireland's West Coast | Cliffs of Moher + Aran Islands

We're exploring renowned jewels of Ireland's west coast: the mythical Cliffs of Moher and the picturesque Aran Islands. It's our first time visiting Ireland and we are charmed at every turn. 🍀 We begin the day in Kinvara with coffee and a castle...the spectacular Dunguaire Castle that featured in the 1969 Walt Disney production of Guns in the Heather. We follow the Wild Atlantic Way southwest to The Burren for a birds-eye-view of the Cliffs and the rocky limestone landscape this region is known for before continuing to Doolin in County Clare where we board the Aran Islands Express ferry. As an added bonus, the ferry includes a cruise to the Cliffs of Moher! These 14-kilometer-long, 700 foot high cliffs are absolutely ENORMOUS and you might recognize them as the Cliffs of Insanity from The Princess Bride, as well as the Horcrux Cave in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. After getting a good long look at the cliffs, we cross the North Atlantic Ocean to the smallest of the three islands: Inisheer (Inis Oírr). We are immediately awestruck when we find horses and buggies greeting ferry passengers arriving on the island. How charming is this place?! We make our way to the nearest pub - Tigh Ruairí - for the catch of the day. Once our bellies are full and we've practiced speaking Irish, we make our way across the island to a famous shipwreck called the MV Plassy, which we are delighted by because it just so happens to be the shipwreck on 'Craggy Island' in Father Ted, one of our most beloved TV shows. It's at this shipwreck that we have a chance encounter with some of our viewers who recognize us from our channel. How cool is that?! After lots of laughs with our new friends, we hurry back to the ferry for our ride back to the mainland. What a day to remember! Have you been to the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands?
