Defending Dew Tour champion Gus Kenworthy (Telluride, CO) made it two in a row when he won Sunday’s slopestyle competition at Breckenridge. Under sunny skies, the course was fast and fun, allowing for what was one of the better men’s ski slopestyle finals ever contested. Breckenridge altered the course for 2015, allowing the skiers to carry more speed throughout the course and also adding a fourth jump, which offered athletes the chance to showcase spins in all four directions. Kenworthy’s technical rail section and execution of spins in all four directions on the jumps gave him the edge over a competitive field. Jossi Well of New Zealand took second and Swiss skier Fabian Bosch was third. Olympic gold medalist Joss Christensen (Park City, UT) skied well, and was barely bumped off the podium when Wells laid down a solid second run. Christensen excelled on the jumps, where he used a different grab on all four hits, but he was also tight on the rails. Bobby Brown (Breckenridge, CO) also had a solid run, but it wasn’t enough in such a tight field; he finished sixth in front of his hometown crowd. McRae Williams (Park City, UT) was eighth and Robby Franco (Cameron Park, CA) was 10th.
