We tackled a Transit van with severely burned, failed vinyl wrap. No torch, no heat gun, just Vinyl-Off, sunlight, and trash bags. Here's exactly how we did it: 1. Start with a sun warmed surface. Use an infrared thermometer to ensure the surface is warm. This removal was at 143F. 2. Clean off oxidation and dirt to allow for better surface contact. 3. Tape off Plastic and Headlights 3. Apply Vinyl-Off using a paint or chip brush, brushing it on as you would a wood stain. If the product is running, you're using too much. 4. Cover area with a plastic trash bag. 5. Let is sit for 20 minutes. 6. Scrape off film using plastic razor. Reapply Vinyl-Off if the film begins to dry out. 7. Once the film is removed, apply Adhesive-Off Pro to remaining adhesive residue. 8. Wipe with isopropyl alcohol - You're ready for install. The results are a bare, wrap-ready hood. If you've got baked on wrap or just want to save time on removals - this is a method that works for us on shattered wrap. HEAT IS IMPORTANT. If you can't get it from the sun, utilize shop lights, infrared warming lamps or propane heaters to ensure you are working on a warmed surface. The bagging method creates a greenhouse effect that promotes the vinyl softening action of Vinyl-Off.
