#lahuremhani #mhemengawangtenzinrinpoche #stuparapne ‪@tashidelekchannel2411‬ In honor of the courageous Gurkha soldiers from the Helambu region who valiantly served in the First and Second World Wars, a significant event took place approximately 50 years ago. Mr. Gopal Lama, a proud former British soldier who served in the Second World War (renamed 30471, 2GR Rifleman Dorje, due to the recruitment restrictions imposed on the Helambu area at that time), established a chhorten known as "Lahure Mhani" in Kharka Danda, Helambu. This sacred memorial, however, suffered damage during the devastating Great Earthquake of 2072 Bs. Hence, in the memory of all those Ex. Gurkhas including late veteran Mr. Gopal Lama, his family proudly undertook the noble task of reconstructing the chhorten, which now stands as a Jhyangchhup Chhorten at the same place. The Ceremonial Rituals were conducted with great reverence by the esteemed Sri Lama Sange, Head Lama of Chiri Monastery. The auspicious Consecration Ceremony (Rabne) was performed by the venerable Dharma Guru Mheme Nawang Tenjin Rimpoche signifying the successful completion of this momentous inauguration.
