From March 17th through the 19th Denver got hit with not just a blizzard, but one of the biggest blizzards since historical records started in 1872! This freak blizzard came as a classic "Spring Storm" which dumped a whopping 31.8 inches of HEAVY - WET snow in Downtown Denver. Other areas had more. In the foothills there were amounts up to 82 inches! Day 1: It was fun! You could still get around. Day 2: My power went out, you could not drive, most traffic lights were dead. Day 3: Roofs began to collapse, 3-4 story building roofs collapsed, you could hear the metal support beams bending when carports were slowly collapsing onto cars, even the Airport (DIA) Roof collapsed in one area! When the storm finally ended, It took less than 1 week to melt ALL of that snow! Crazy Colorado spring snow.
