Afghanistan, where to start? Follow my adventures on Instagram:   / manonroca   For years, I delayed visiting Afghanistan because of media fears, but finally, I got to see its mountains. During my three weeks there, I witnessed a country struggling with years of war and poverty, yet I was also touched by the incredible warmth and hospitality of the people. Despite the challenges, including a tough border crossing and cold winter weather, the kindness and resilience of the Afghan people deeply moved me. They generously shared their limited resources with me. Being in Afghanistan felt like stepping into the world of Khaled Hosseini’s "The Kite Runner," a book that has influenced me since high school. Walking through cities like Kabul and Mazar-e Sharif made my long-held dream come true and was emotionally powerful. Leaving was a relief, but the experience strengthened my connection to a country that has always fascinated me.
