Trevin Wade came into college football as the last scholarship on the list. A "default" 2-star recruit. He made his own highlight tape to even get in, and when he got there was put in a position he'd never played. Nobody expected anything from him. A lot of athletes would have been upset and focused on the negative angle of that narrative. T. Wade learned, watched and waited his turn. If you've ever heard the adage, "stay ready and you ain't gotta get ready;" that was Trevin Wade. By the next year, he led his team in interceptions while only playing 3% of the defensive snaps. The school had no choice. They had to play him. And he overdelivered. Back to back interceptions and pick-sixes against top ranked opponents meant T. Wade became the poster child for the University of Arizona football program. 18-wheelers with his face on them. Front page of USA Today. And all the approval that comes from being number one. Until he wasn't. In this conversation, we get to walk through all of those moments and learn what separates guys who make it to the next level and those who don't. And what it costs both to get there and stay there to build something that lasts longer than a highlight reel. If you're a young athlete trying to figure out how to separate yourself, or any kind of high achiever wanting to know how to perform at this highest level without losing perspective, this conversation is for you. ——————————————————————— Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creators!): https://uppbeat.io/t/aaron-paul-low/h... My life blends a combination of theology, arts, athletics, tech, entertainment and culture. Depending on the season, you’ll get a little more of one than the other, but my life has afforded me varied experiences in all of these areas. I’ve graduated from a respected theological seminary; I’m a first-generation, Nigerian-American; worked in automotive education, cell phone wireless, electronics, and software companies—now leading creative teams as a Marketing director and building my own fashion house—Kwenu x House of Eebo. This channel exists to take all those experiences and share with others all the knowledge I wish someone would have shared with me. My hope is that it gives people from the kinds of neighborhoods I grew up in a clearer path to find opportunities they otherwise may not have, and in that way, see more of God’s will done on earth, as it is in Heaven.
