We delve into the customs and traditions of the places we visit. Head Balloki, or Balloki Headworks, is a barrage on the Ravi River in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is located about 70 kilometers from Lahore, and is a popular tourist destination, known for its scenic beauty and abundant wildlife. The barrage was built in 1915 as part of the "Triple Canals Project" to irrigate the Lower Bari Doab region. It is a massive structure, over 1,600 feet long and 40 feet high. The barrage creates a reservoir that is home to a variety of fish and birds, and is a popular spot for fishing, boating, and birdwatching. In addition to its natural beauty, Head Balloki is also a popular historical site. It was the scene of a major battle during the Sikh Wars, and the remains of the Sikh fort can still be seen today. The barrage also played an important role in the development of modern Pakistan, and was one of the first major irrigation projects undertaken in the country.
