The video's subject location Karabal Station is a fictional place. The scenario belongs to the movie Breath: Long Live the Homeland but the events are heavily inspired by real terrorist attacks. 1993 Karabal attack is a firefight that happened in 25 March 1993 between the PKK and Turkish Armed Forces in the Karabal Gendarmerie Station near the Turkish-Iraqi border. The station had a radio relay station in it which had great importance. A group of PKK terrorists between 200-400 men, led by a terrorist codenamed "Doctor" attacked the station at midnight with heavy weapons. 40 soldiers were in and around the station at the moment, most of whom were sleeping. From the moment the first shot was fired until the end of the attack at dawn, 24 soldiers were killed in action including the station's commander Captain Mete Horozoğlu and 16 were wounded. During the firefight contact was lost with 4 soldiers, 3 of them was found killed outside the station while the one of them was killed inside. The firefight began when the PKK militants opened fire from 3 different flanks on the station at 01:00 midnight. PKK militants used various weaponry in the ambush including DSHks and different types of rockets. The attack was filmed by the terrorists from 3 different cameras and were later released in various websites used by the terrorists as propaganda sources. The videos has footage of how the terrorists brought weapons into the region, passed the Turkish border and attacked the station. Around 03:00 hours, the terrorists advanced closer into the station and recorded more footage here, then tried to seize the station in an attempt to steal ammunition and resources. Prior to the incursion into the station, a suicide bomber barged into the compound and blew himself up. In the incursion, the leader of terrorist group "Doctor" also entered inside but was killed by the Turkish soldiers. After fierce resistance and return fire by the Turkish security personnel in the station, the PKK terrorists fled the station and retreated back to Northern Iraq at dawn. In the 7-hour long firefight, no help arrived to the defending Turkish soldiers from the outside. Can Bedenden Çıkmayınca by Barış Manço
