Who would have thought that a shadow line would be used to describe how to align a lathe tool?, when the shadow's line up (or go away) it's in line,, just a very quick way of aligning the rear mounted parting off tool post, as told to me by Jerry Kieffer at the N.A.M.E.S. model engineering show in Detroit MI, I can not thank Mr. Kieffer enuff,, I don't remember what year it was but the tips and tricks I learned as I sat in on a gear cutting lesson,, will be remembered forever,, (a small engine ignition seminar I sat in on the following day was as equally rewarding),,,, this little tip may not work for you but it works for me, and yes I did check with a square the first few times I set the cutoff tool post this way and I suggest you to do also,, leave a comment, subscribe, pass it on,,,
