Mexico - Ensenada & Valle Guadalupe with Kids

Dec 17-19, 2021 - For our last trip of the year, we trekked across the border to Mexico! We had heard great things about Ensenada and wine country Valle de Guadalupe so we’re excited to check out the region as a family. We drove our minivan across with Cali plates with Mexican liability insurance on hand. Many people take Uber from the US side to the border then hire a private Mexico driver for the trip— I thought that would’ve been more headache, and we’re glad we just drove our car across. We felt very safe during our entire time in Ensenada & Guadalupe and everyone was very accommodating to kids. Mask-wearing and COVID-19 protocols were more strict compared to the U.S. so we were happy to see that. This was a highly recommended short weekend trip! Highlights in Ensenada: Fish tacos and margarita places everywhere. We had great fish tacos at Tacos don Zefe. Malecon - boat tour (very cheap!) These are not advertised anywhere on the internet but you can likely find someone offering these on the pier. Cocteles @ La Guerrerense & other food trucks Staying at Hotel Torre Lucerna - relatively inexpensive for a premium hotel. We enjoyed staying there for a night. La Bufadora wasn’t that impressive, but the shopping area nearby is fun. Highlights in Valle de Guadalupe Wineries: Lechuza, Clos de tres Cantos Food: Deckman’s (the best!), Animalon (dinner)
