Shortly after the launch of the Nintendo GameCube, Mario's younger, more timid brother Luigi was sent on an adventure! In Luigi's Mansion, the more shy of the two Super Mario Bros. wins a mansion, although he never entered the associated sweepstakes. Mario was supposed to go ahead but is nowhere to be found when Luigi arrives. Instead, there are cobwebs, darkness, and... ghosts! These ghosts can only be eliminated thanks to Professor I. Gidds and his invention, the "Poltergust 3000." Luigi can lure the spirits in, turn on his flashlight, and then suck them up in a housewife-like manner! But not all ghosts are so easy to catch. The freed painting ghosts, like the Buu Huus, are more powerful and don’t easily reveal their weak points... Despite his fear, Luigi sneaks from room to room in the haunted mansion searching for his brother Mario, stumbling from one danger to the next. 3.6 million Nintendo fans supported Luigi on his second-ever adventure, bringing Luigi's Mansion to 5th place on the GameCube software charts. The game has been available in Europe since May 3, 2002.
