New York has many iconic dishes and one of the most classic meals that one should try is the mutton chops at Keen's Steakhouse. While not very well known, this is one of the best steaks I've ever had pretty much unchanged for over a century, this is a case where you don't mess with perfection. Ever since the 1800s, Keens steakhouse has been serving this historic dish of aged mutton chops. While there may be a belief that lamb may be gave me, the aged steak is nothing but; flavourful and meaty and melt in your mouth, tender, this is definitely a must dry dish if you are from or visiting New York! On my trip, I experienced a flight delay, which afforded me an extra day to spend in New York, which I happily did so with a trip to Keens. I recall how great their mutton chop is, and I am definitely looking forward to it but reading up, I realize they also have burgers available. They may not be in the menu from the dining room, but you'll just have to ask for it. So along with the burger, the mutton chops and dessert, it was a wonderful way to spend the layover.
