When he enters first grade, his mother presents him with a family horse. During his inaugural visit to the local blacksmith's shop, he stumbles upon his calling, and blacksmithing ignites a fervent passion within him. At the tender age of ten, his father gifts him his first Elvis record, triggering an enduring enthusiasm for the rhythm and blues.
