Actions speak louder than words. The Gert Sibande District Municipality (GSDM) successfully hosted a high-impact Councillor Workshop on Anti-Fraud, Anti-Corruption, Ethics, and the Code of Conduct at the GSDM Office Complex in Ermelo on 17 February 2026. This critical governance workshop focused on strengthening ethical leadership, accountability, and transparency among public representatives. As custodians of public trust, councillors play a vital role in promoting clean governance and responsible service delivery within communities. The session featured valuable insights from Nontshikelelo Hayward, Ethics and Integrity Deputy Director from the Mpumalanga Office of the Premier, who emphasised the importance of moving beyond policy compliance towards “Integrity in Action” in local government.
