A aerial look around Beacon Island and surrounds and the 1649 story of the terrible fate of the survivors that were left on the island till Capt PELSAERT the Batavia’s captain after sailing a small longboat with a small crew to Java, returned 3 months later to find a Horacious Cornelius had taken over the leadership with some collaborators and had murdered 125 women and children and males that wouldn’t join his group. Immediately following the rescue parties leaving ,he had sent a separate group of military men who were passengers on the Batavia, off to find water on any of the other islands convincing them to leave their weapon’s with him. They found water and food but didn’t return to Cornelius’s island. Following the murdering that Cornelius had started one of the survivors managed to get to the military people and warn them what Cornelius was doing. PELSAERT arrived almost at the same time as Cornelius and his henchmen were about to raid the military people and they managed to warn PELSAERT of the going ons. PELSAERT group overthrew the Cornelius group and held as prisoners till they were put on trial. Cornelius and his followers were put on trial and hanged on the Beacon island
