Dead bag syndrome is a late postoperative complication of cataract surgery that leads to intraocular lens dislocation. Dead Bag Syndrome, where an intraocular lens (IOL) dislocates after an uneventful cataract surgery, the primary goal is to refix the IOL, either within the capsular bag or with alternative fixation techniques if the bag is compromised. If the capsular bag is healthy, surgeons may try to reposition the lens within the bag, potentially with sutures to aid in fixation. If the bag is not viable, or the IOL is severely subluxated, the lens may need to be exchanged, and alternative fixation methods like scleral fixation or iris fixation may be used to secure the new IOL.
