Meghan Kelly works at the intersection of mapping, feminist theory, and digital storytelling. She applies feminist principles across spatial data, map design, and digital storytelling. She applies feminist principles across spatial data, map design, and mapping processes to reveal and challenge systems of power and oppression. This often takes place in collaborative workshop settings. Meghan has applied this feminist mapping lens to migration stories, map symbolization like icons, incarceration and policing climate change, and housing insecurity. She is currently exploring the role of maps in digital storytelling, feminist map symbolization, and ethics in GeoAI. Feminist interventions have instrumentally shaped critical perspectives in mapping, yet often remain erased or niche within broader cartographic conversations. Drawing inspiration from recent work in data feminism, design justice, and feminist digital geographies (among other arenas), Meghan Kelly will highlight a feminist mapping framework that can be applied across content, form, and process to reveal and challenge systems of power, privilege, and oppression. To illustrate this framework, she curates a “gallery of possibilities” that makes feminist mapping visible and highlights interdisciplinary horizons. The “gallery” itself demonstrates alternative vocabularies and pluralistic potentials for feminist mapping. She will argue that these vocabularies are integral to more equitable and just futures. -------------- Rua Red Website: http://www.ruared.ie/ Instagram: / rua_red Twitter: / ruared Facebook: / rua.red
