Goodbye Kawasaki Heavy Industries C151... The East West & North South Line are not going to be the same without you... This video showcases all four remaining C151s running on the last day of revenue service, on 26 September 2025. The Kawasaki Heavy Industries C151 was introduced to the public in 1985 and started service along with the opening of the first Singapore MRT line ever, between Yio Chu Kang & Toa Payoh, on 7 November 1987. Over the years, more stations along East West & North South Line have opened and The Kawasaki Heavy Industries C151 has received mid-life refurbishment between 2006 to 2008 - Going from White to Black exterior livery, and classic 3-coloured to brighter white interior. When LTA took over all of the train assets under the New Rail Financing Framework in 2016, the original plan to refurbish the mechanical component under SMRT was cancelled and it was decided to replace all of the first 3 models (Kawasaki Heavy Industries C151, Siemens C651 & Kawasaki Heavy Industries & Nippon Sharyo C751B) with the newest Alstom R151. The Alstom R151 entered service on 4 June 2023. The C151 was originally planned to be completely replaced by end-2026 but because of a major incident involving C151 (Train set 065/066) on 25 September 2024 (Video :    • BIGGEST train disruption ever - Massive cr...  ), all of the Siemens C651 & KHI&NS C751B were retired prematurely on 30 September 2024, and the C151 retirement was pushed forward to September 2025, bringing back to this video - taken on 26 September 2025.
