Help us raise the funds to stop toxic gold-mining! https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/save-... Sinéad Ní Mhearnóg is a mother of 2 young children, a proud Irish speaker and a daughter of the Sperrins. Sinéad grew up in the townland of Oaghmonicroy, with Oaghmonicroy hill and the Coneyglen valley as her playground. With family in Ballinascreen, Barnes, Dungiven and the Glenelly valley she feels strongly connected to the Sperrins. Growing up surrounded by stories of the people, townlands & history of Greencastle & the surrounding glens and valleys, she has a keen interest in the linguistic and cultural heritage of the area and the maintenance of a strong sense of community that has been fostered and maintained through generations. Sinéad sees herself as custodian of an area that was given to us in pristine condition by our ancestors; she believes that we have a responsibility to pass it on to our children and our children's children in the same or better condition and not to put it at risk. Sinéad believes Dalradian's plans are for the betterment of the bank balance of investors who do not care about the Sperrins or the communities who live there, work there or bring up families there. She has no doubt that Dalradian's plans would destroy Greencastle visually and put a knife through the heart of a community which has punched above its weight in all aspects through history & those wounds could not be undone. "Help us in our David and Goliath fight against a company who values profits over community. Help me protect this area of outstanding natural beauty for my children and future generations. We have one chance to raise enough money to make this a fairer fight and we need your help. Go raibh maith agaibh - Thank you from my family to yours" Help us raise the funds to stop toxic gold-mining! https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/save-...
