Kevin Grant's Ataraxia Chardonnay 2018 was recently released in the UK. Here is Kevin at home in South Africa telling us about his delicious wine. It was awarded 95 points from Tim Atkin MW: “you know class when you taste it, and this is certainly that…this has the structure and concentration to age…complex, nuanced, stony flavours of lemon zest, oatmeal and stone fruit”. The name Ataraxia is Greek for ‘tranquillity’ and, for winemaker Kevin, this is the feeling drinking a great wine should inspire. Their Chardonnay is produced from vines planted nearly 400 metres above sea-level. The cooler climate and ancient glacial soils give a wine that echoes its Burgundian counterparts.
