Oh H*ll No!: Character Snubs Black Girls At Sesame Place In Viral Video | Roland Martin

Sesame Street-themed amusement park in Philadelphia issues an apology statement Sunday after a video of one of the performers ignoring two Black girls went viral. The video shows two girls reaching up to the performer in a Rosita costume, and the performer appears to wave no to the girls and continues to walk on. Sesame Street released the following statement about the incident: "Our brand, our park and our employees stand for inclusivity and equality in all forms. That is what Sesame Place is all about and we do not tolerate any behaviors in our parks that are contrary to that commitment. We also are, and have always been, committed to making sure every family and every child has the best possible experience at our parks and we are incredibly disappointed when that does not happen. Regarding the incident yesterday, the costumes our performers wear sometimes make it difficult to see at lower levels and sometimes our performers miss hug requests from guests." The performer said the "no" hand gestures were not directed at the black girls. The performer said it was in response to repeated requests for Rosita to hold children for a picture, which is not allowed. Sesame Place has invited the family back for a special meet-and-greet with the cast.
