Pigeon Forge Rod Run 2023. Taking the Gremlin to its first car show. Quarter million-dollar truck?

Believe it or not, I wasn't the only AMC in the crowd. There was a very cool 4X4 Eagle across from me. Next to me was a Ford truck with a supercharged LS3 engine that was priced at $250,000 dollars. On my other side was a very dirty but fairly decent bodied 80s Monte Carlo SS. A strange contrast from a beater Monte to the Gremlins tasteful patina, to a full-on big dollar retro Rod, all in a row. There were full on rat rods, full customs, retro rods, perfect restorations, and nice drivers. There was no shortage of vintage and modern wonders of automotive creations. Tri five Chevy's were everywhere you looked. I was a little disappointed with my decision to enter the show rather than park on the street and just enjoy the cruise scene. The show cost money and the cruise does not. The only perk for me was the show had security at night and free parking for my tow rig. However, for others it offered a swap meet, indoor vendors, show prizes, and trophies that you won't get on the street. For the Gremlin and I, I think the street would have been the better choice. Nonetheless, I had fun and handed out lots of business cards to promote my You Tube channel and my Mopar parts business. The Gremlin was a hit. I was amazed at how many people actually owned one of these in their past. One guy actually owned ole Gismo's twin sister but it had a six banger and auto trans. If you like the show scene, by all means join the show. If you prefer the cruise scene, come park on the side of the street and enjoy the mayhem. Better keep the exhaust cutouts and tire smoke to a minimum. The local law enforcement was thick as fleas to be sure we all behaved ourselves. Throw your favorite car in the comments.
