In this five minute English pronunciation class we're going to focus on these two vowel sounds: /e/ and /æ/. These vowels are really common in English and lots of learners don't make them different enough. They are both short, front vowels. Don't be tempted to make the /æ/ the same as the vowel in words like "start" or "hard". It's crucial to make sure your mouth is open wide enough so /æ/ is clearly different from /e/.
