Condor Long Cut Pipe Tobacco from Gallaher Ltd. is a "love it or hate it" pipe tobacco which enjoys enormous popularity in the United Kingdom, where it is sold as a "drugstore" or "O.T.C." tobacco. I know of no U.S. vendor; I bought a 25 gram (less than one ounce) packet from http://www.mrsnuff.com , and it cost $12.99 plus shipping. That's very expensive for pipe tobacco. The tobacco is presented as a broken flake, nearly ready-rubbed, but is called "long cut." This tobacco has a reputation for "ghosting" pipes (i.e. leaving its scent permanently in the bowl). For this reason, I smoke it in a cobb. I've found that cobbs don't ghost. The room note is powerful but to me, pleasant. The tobacco to me tastes soapy, piney and with a hint of clove oil; it even numbs the tissues of my mouth and tongue a bit when I smoke it. Ready to smoke right out of the pouch (I just stuff it into the pipe in 2 or 3 steps), it burns beautifully right out of the package. The nicotine level of this one is as high as Royal Yacht from Dunhill, which is to say it is very, very strong in "Vitamin N." I gave it a 3 out of 5; I can't smoke this all day nor every day, but it is a fine product, which I wish was available in the U.S. This one is a must-try tobacco.
