For the past six months, we’ve been building Stylist’s Lessons That Matter, launched to celebrate International Women’s Day. We asked trailblazing women to share the lesson they wish they’d been taught at school – the one that took decades, multiple failings and heartache to learn. We asked them to personally write their lesson as a speech. From training in the gyms of Texas as a child, Simone Biles is widely considered one of the greatest athletes of all time. She’s the most decorated gymnast in history, having won 11 Olympic and 30 World Championship medals, with countless other generation-defining achievements under her belt. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and was the focus of a hit Netflix documentary. Aside from gymnastic talent, she’s used her platform to speak up for the importance of prioritising mental health in sports. The result? A series of rigorously tested lessons plans that get to the heart of what young people need to hear. Team Stylist will be popping into schools this week to introduce Lessons That Matter.
