Robert Griffin III or "RG3" as he is known to his fan, led the Baylor football program from perennial Big 12 doormat to a bowl game victory. Along the way did something that many thought was impossible - win a Heisman Trophy at Baylor. The Copperas Cove phenom and son of 2 military sergeants was also an accomplished hurdler, setting high school records and winning the Big 12 400 meters title as a freshman. RG3 had a spectacular junior season in 2011 leading the Bears to a 10-3 record while throwing for over 4,000 yards and 37 touchdowns. He also rushed for 644 yards with nine TDs. The first player in Baylor history to win the Heisman, RG3 also won the AP Player of the Year, and Davey O'Brien Awards while setting 20 Baylor records. Griffin ended his college career with a thrilling 67–56 win over the Washington Huskies in the Alamo Bowl. He was the 2nd overall pick in the NFL Draft for the Washington Redskins and was named the NFL’s 2012 Rookie of the Year. Griffin III played eight seasons in the NFL – with Washington, Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Ravens. In August 2021, He joined ESPN as a college football and NFL analyst which he calls a weekly ESPN/ABC college football game and contributes to ESPN’s coverage of the College Football Playoff, Super Bowl, and other major events.
