If you enjoyed this video I would very much appreciate your support so I can bring you guys even better content =) Floating markets are one of Bangkok’s biggest tourist attractions, but did you know there are dozens of floating markets in the city? Before they were a tourist attraction, these floating markets found all over the canals of Bangkok served a very real purpose as markets selling fresh produce to the local community. Over time a few of larger and most accessible floating markets started to attract foreign visitors for their unique setup. Amphawa Floating Market is considered the second most popular floating market in Bangkok after Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, but still far less touristy. However, unlike other floating markets in Bangkok which are busiest in the early hours of the day, Amphawa is most lively from around 2pm to 9pm and only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The best things to do at Amphawa is to feast on the delicious seafood while sitting on the riverbanks and to join a firefly boat tour after 6pm. It is located about 80km outside of central Bangkok which makes it a little difficult to reach, particularly by public transport, however in this video I will show you how to get there in the most efficient way possible! 1. Take a Grab to Southern Bus Terminal (https://goo.gl/maps/sc54x76GFutFw63R6) about 15km outside central Bangkok 2. Go to Platform 10 for departures to Amphawa Floating Market, shared with buses to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Maeklong Railway Market, and buy a ticket for 70 baht 3. Wait for bus 996 heading to Damnoen Saduak, don’t worry it will stop at Amphawa on the way, just let the driver know that’s where you want to go Key information: • Location – https://g.page/amphawa?share • Estimated travel time – 2 hours from central Bangkok depending on wait times at Southern Bus Terminal • Recommended time to spend – 3-4 hours including the fireflies tour • Estimated cost – around 800 baht pp. including all food, transport and fireflies tour Need more ideas on where to eat in Bangkok?
