Fullerton police pursuit ends with car fire

FULLERTON: On 06-24-22 at approximately 2:40am, Fullerton police and fire responded to a report of an assault at the Travel Lodge motel on Euclid and Baker. Units arrived to find a male victim who had been assaulted. Paramedics responded and transported the patient to a local hospital for treatment. While investigating the assault. Officers located a vehicle that was involved in the assault that had fled the scene prior to their arrival. A pursuit ensued, which traveled through several cities. The pursuit lasted for about 45 min before officers were able to perform a pursuit intervention technique on the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle came to a stop on the WB 91 freeway just west of Kraemer Blvd. A female passenger exited the vehicle and was taken into custody. The male driver did not want to exit the vehicle. The vehicle began smoking and eventually caught fire. The suspect then exited the vehicle and was taken into custody. The vehicle became engulfed in flames and began catching the brush on fire. Anaheim firefighters were requested and were able to extinguish the fire. No injuries were reported. Full video on YouTube.
