Goan Poee/Poi Bread Recipe!! Ingredients: 2 cup - Plain flour/All purpose flour/Bakers flour 1 cup - Wholemeal flour/ Whole wheat flour 1/2 cup - Wheat bran 3/4 tbsp - Sugar 1 tsp - Salt 1 1/4 tsp - Instant dried yeast 1 tbsp - Vegetable oil Warm water as required Steps to bake: 1) Add all the ingredients except wheat bran, in the bowl and mix. 2) Knead the dough, keep adding water in dough until it is sticky. 3) Knead for 10 mins until smooth. 4) Grease and cover the bowl with plastic wrap or damp kitchen towel. 5) Place it in a warm, draught-free place to allow the dough to rise. 6) Once the dough has doubled in size, deflate it. 7) Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead again for 2-3 minutes or until smooth and elastic and returned to its original size. 8) Shape the dough into a ball. 9) Sprinkle wheat bran on rolling board or parchment paper and roll the dough on it - both side, rolled dough should be 1 cm in thickness. 10) Place all the flattened bread dough with the parchment paper on the baking tray. 11) Let it rest for 30 mins or until it puffed. Cover it with Kitchen towel. 12) Preheat the oven 220 to 240 Cor to the highest setting available in your oven. 13) Bake for 6 to 8 mins. 14) Poee Bread is Ready!! Enjoy!!
