The First ever Bhutia feature film || "Bya Kay-The Arrival of a New Born"|| Based on Bhutia Culture

The film plot is based upon "Bya-Kay", a traditional custom followed by the Bhutia families during the time period of child-birth within the family. The film recalls scenes from within the Sikkimese Bhutia community of the olden times and highlights the rituals that were followed during the time of expectancy of a new born in the family, while beautifully exhibiting the daily on-goings and the roles of the family members. A feature film first of its kind by Shri Bhaichung Tsichudarpa, currently an Associate Professor in the Bhutia Department of Sikkim University.
