Analytics and Forecasting will always go together, but never forget the reason for the forecast. For many scenarios, the forecast is a way to assess progress towards a target. In this video, we'll review what they look like and discuss the theory behind them. We'll also take time to review and discuss the reality of what we are looking to achieve without forecasts. Is it just to report, "Are we on track to make the target?" or is there something else going on? Do we need an entirely seasonal forecast model, or will linear meet requirements? Metrics are great for displaying performance vs a target, the currently preview feature of milestones really help to track this over time as well. For this video, we used the Day of Year column of a calendar table. We have added that to our Calendar on Github for those of you following along. Then you can pick a measure, for us we have used our [Registered Finishers] measure and then created a cumulative Year to Date version YTD = TOTALYTD ( [Registered Finishers], 'Calendar'[Date] ) Book your Consultancy Introductory Call https://outlook.office365.com/owa/cal...
