7/5/22: Cleveland National Forest- Thing Valley Road-/PCT- Mt. Laguna Pt. 2/5

Cleveland National Forest- Laguna Mountains- San Diego County, Southern California. Here, I take a relatively short hike, mostly along the upper portions of Thing Valley Road just off Sunrise Hwy (S-1), and a little along the Pacific Crest Trail nearby. My plan originally was to break trail nearby and climb to Mt. Laguna (6,299'), the highpoint of Cleveland National Forest, but I did not succeed in finding a cross-country departure from the PCT on this hike. I was very close, upon further research after the hike, to the base of it along the PCT, so I will have to return to look harder for a good trail departure for the next visit!
