'Beatrix The Early Life of Beatrix Potter' is a 1989 BBC Scotland production. It is a biographical docudrama about the early life of Beatrix Potter (1866 – 1943) growing up in England and Scotland. Beatrix Potter was and is the beloved British author and illustrator of her first and most famous children's book, 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' published in 1902. In most of the first fifteen years of her life, Beatrix Potter spent her summer holidays at Dalguise, an estate on the River Tay in Perthshire, Scotland where this program is primarily set. There she sketched and explored a rural area of Scotland that helped to develop her imagination and observation skills.
