Cycling along the Vecht river, from Loenen aan de Vecht to Utrecht, NL

Sit back and enjoy a bike ride along the Vecht river on a sunny April evening, from the village of Loenen aan de Vecht all the way to the Domtoren in Utrecht. I start my ride at the Brugstraat in Loenen aan de Vecht, and right away crossed the Dorpsbrug to the north side of the river. From there I followed the winding and beautiful road along the Vecht, through and past the villages of Nieuwersluis, Breukelen and Maarssen respectively. Between Maarssen and the village of Oud-Zuilen I made a small detour, past both the largest and the smallest mill in the province of Utrecht. For me it is always special to cycle past here, because one of my ancestors was a miller at these mills. After this detour I continued my way along the Vecht, through Oud-Zuilen and then on to Utrecht. In Utrecht I made one last detour before ending up at the Domtoren. Via Vredenburg, the busiest bicycle intersection in Utrecht, I cycled towards the largest bicycle parking in the world. After cycling through here I crossed the Catharijnesingel and then covered the last meters towards the Domtoren via the Zadelstraat. This bike ride, of approximately 21.5 km, was recorded on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.
