Written from the perspective of multiple voices vying for attention. We often opt not to hear the most important of them, the truth. Avoiding this path will cause pain while delving into it will do the same. We can either choose to avoid it or lean in. Both will be a struggle but yield different results. In leaning into our own truth, there is a light at the end of the tunnel in which we come out stronger and anew on the other side. We get to live with some sort of integrity and certainty in ourselves in an ever changing and unstable world. Personally, I wanted to shed the facade and find solace through simple progress. As the song progresses I take stock in the painful experiences I’ve made it through and start realizing that what I’ve been searching for all these years has always been near me. I needed to take my soul off mute. I needed to get back to music. I needed to come back to what I know is my home.
