"Highland Cathedral" (Ulrich Roewer and Michael Korb 1982) played with bagpipes and accompanied by the Army Music Corps Ulm under the direction of Captain Dominik Koch. The reason for this was the roll call for the transfer of command of the two multinational commands "Multinational Command Operational Command" and "Joint Support and Enabling Command" from Lieutenant General Jürgen Knappe to Lieutenant General Alexander Sollfrank. The roll call took place in the reduit of the Wilhelmsburg barracks in Ulm. The piece begins with "Bloody Fields of Flanders" by John MacLellan (c. 1918) played by an outside musician. Generalleutnant Jürgen Knappe had wished for "Highland Cathedral" for his roll call, but was then surprised by this musical introduction from the Ulm Army Band. The piece of music focuses on the bloody battles of World War I in Flanders. Incidentally, this region was also one of the hotbeds of the "Spanish Flu". Between 1918 and 1920, the "Spanish Flu" killed more people than World War I. A highly recommended book on this: https://www.amazon.de/Pale-Rider-Span...
