"AS THE DEER" is a praise and worship hymn song by Martin J. Nystrom, a native of Seattle. Written in 1984, this song is based on Psalm 42:1 "As the deer panteth for the water, so my soul longeth after Thee; You alone are my heart's desire, and I long to worship Thee". This cover was sang by Maydelene Sulite Neri. The video was taken in Philippine Publishing House in Manila, Philippines four days after she met a tragic experience in her life in 2004 but this video also served as a starter for her to join the Ministry of Friends for Life, where she served as a fulltime volunteer missionary for many years giving her talent for the glory of God.
