Railroad Crossings of the Amtrak Michigan Line

This is the first installment of my Railroad Crossings of the Amtrak Michigan Line series. Probably will be the only one for a while since I live 3 hours away. This line is a 250-mile stretch of the less than 1,000 miles of track Amtrak owns in the country. It runs from Porter, IN (Amtrak trains run from Chicago take NS to here) to Detroit, MI. The line is ex-Conrail. Although most trains are Amtrak, an NS local uses the line from Porter up to somewhere in Michigan, although I don't know its schedule. South Shore Freight also uses a small portion of it in Michigan City. The line is of Conrail and Michigan Central heritage. You would be surprised at how much old and/or interesting equipment this line has. You would think that since it's an Amtrak-owned line for high speed trains, that it'd be a bunch of modern quad installs. But you'd be wrong. This line is plentiful in rare GS light frames, Safetran mechanical bells, even few US&S e-bells (albeit the 2 original ones in Indiana died, 1 got added with an NEG sound, and the other was fixed with new NEG sound), plus a few odd things such as the very old GRS cantilever at Chicago Street in Michigan City. Overall, this is a pretty fun line to railfan, especially for recording crossings on.
