This is a first attempt to edit the hundreds of pictures and videos i took during the 15 months of my Atlantic sailing adventure that took me from Aigina island, Greece to Gibraltar, Las Palmas, Canary Islands, Mindelo, Cape Verde islands, St. Lucia and the Windward and Leeward islands, Carribean, the BVI's and from there to Dominican Republic and finally to Cuba. The return trip included a ten days visit to ile Vache, Haiti again to the BVI's and back to Europe via Horta, Azores. This video is about the last passage from Tortola, BVI's to Horta, Azores. The passage lasted 23 days and most of the time we had wonderful weather but then we got hit by a vicious storm. Our boat a 40 years old Tayana handled the conditions with ease and we didnt even have to steer around the mountainous waves - a rubber band and the pedestal wheel brake did all the work. The ARC Europe rally was also sailing at the same time and all the participating boats arriving a couple of days before us and filling up the Horta marina to the brim. During these months we had many crew changes. This particular passage i was accompanied by my good friend Boris from Canada who also owns a Tayana 37.
