Heartaches (Klenner-Hoffman) by Harry James & his Orchestra, vocal by Marion Morgan Composed in 1931 as a ballad, “Heartaches” is best-remembered for its up-tempo Ted Weems instrumental arrangements and for its 1961 doo-wop treatment by The Marcels. As the reissued 1933 and 1938 recordings by Weems shot up the charts in early 1947, several new versions were also released. Most successful among them, this James arrangement reached the #8 spot on Billboard’s sales and juke box rankings.
