Hey my name is Dennis Hoop, your expert from Integrative Fitness Training and welcome to my video about progressions and variations for back extensions and superman. Unfortunately, the back muscles is one of our most neglected body part and people usually only start caring about it once they start suffering from chronic back pain. While Many people actually focus on their abdominal muscles, I call them mirror muscles, they don’t even waist one thought about their backs. Passive posture while sitting, standing or walking is a phenomenon that you can observe everywhere and all the time in our society. Back extensions and superman are a great tool to activate and strengthening your back muscles. For each movement, embrace your core first (push you belly button in, squeeze everything in) and tighten up your glutes and hamstrings. Focus on a natural breathing without losing any tension in your core. Then follow the instructions and video guidance. The movements should be always under full control without any unnatural or hectic movements.
