HIDTA Warrants Part 1

The mission of High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) is to disrupt and dismantle drug trafficking and criminal organizations engaged in the distribution of narcotics in the Milwaukee area and across the state. HIDTA coordinates with local, state and federal partners to combat drug trafficking networks and efforts assist in and lead to state and federal prosecutions. An investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA), Milwaukee Police Department (MPD), and the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) that started in September 2023, when HSI had intercepted an international shipment of a “swift link” machine-gun conversion device. HIDTA Investigators were then able to successfully dismantle a local group of individuals that were responsible for building and selling ghost guns with machine-gun conversion devices affixed to them. Throughout the investigation, law enforcement seized the following: 2 Machine-guns (rifle and pistol ghost gun) 1 Shotgun 4 Auto Switches 3 Swift Links 3 Pistols (Ghost guns) 1 Submachine-gun (Draco) 2 Rifles 2 kilograms of marijuana Several tools used to make firearms Several firearm parts used to make ghost guns Five arrests were made and the charges included the following: Sale/Possess/Use/Transport Machine Gun Convert Weapon/Provide Full-Auto Felon in Possession of Firearm Vehicle Operator Flee/Elude Officer Recklessly Endangering Safety Modifier Use of a Dangerous Weapon Bail Jumping Possess w/Intent-THC Public Safety Partnerships Helping Keep MKE Safe!
