A piston needs an inner cross of 4 beams to transfer the forces away from the pin eye. how can u check if a piston is good and will last? simply compare it with others esp with good brands known for their quality: grand sport GS, malossi, quattrini and good old piaggio. Which are known for NOT cracking. These brands know what they are doing :) . Good pistons do have 4 proper beams around the conrod pin eye 2: from the top 2: at the bottom of the eye to skirt (or to/at the side ie malossi and gs 210) 4 brand are needed, with proper strength ti transmit the big forces that impact at the pin eye towards the piston skirt. One missing? Not ideal... Only a thin one?
