The Gauteng Provincial Legislature's Portfolio Committee on Community Safety has called on residents of Gauteng to refrain from taking the law into their own hands. This comes after five suspected criminals were set alight and killed in Alexandra last week on Tuesday night. The Committee has condemned the acts of vigilantism and mob justice and encouraged the public to cooperate with the Police and allow the criminal justice system to perform its function of bringing suspected criminals to book.
