Her Voice, Her Power: Survivors Leading the Movement to End FGM

Every survivor of FGM carries a story. Under the Komesha FGM SASA Project funded by the European Union, survivors are leading the movement to end FGM. Grounded in their lived experiences of the harmful effects of the practice, they are challenging deeply rooted traditions and cultural norms. Survivors are taking action to protect their daughters and are actively advocating for an end to FGM. Together, they sensitize other community members in marketplaces, schools, and community gatherings—using their voices to inspire change. Through continued education and community sensitization, FGM can and will become a thing of the past.
