Here is the official music video to accompany the song 'Sam's Sound' by Robin Phillips, from his upcoming new originals album. Sam's Sound was inspired by the story of Sam Phillips, the founder of Sun Studio in Memphis. Sam Phillips opened what was originally called 'Memphis Recording Service' to record and share the sounds of the field workers that he heard growing up. The song talks about this journey, the struggles he faced trying to achieve this, and how Elvis walked in the room one day, saving the studio from failing. The song also mentions Dewey Phillips, the energetic Memphis radio DJ who would talk all over tracks and play ones he liked on repeat. The last bit of the song talks of the studio's approach of waiting for the magic to happen for recordings, whatever time of the day or night that might be.
