Senior Lecturer of Paramedicine Sam Willis has an inspiring message for those who might feel they don't have what it takes to chase their career dreams in health care. Sam says, "It doesn't really matter which background you come from, you can absolutely achieve becoming a paramedic if that's what you want to achieve. So, the reason I went to college to get the qualifications was not through my own choice, it was because I didn't get the grades I needed at school which just goes to show that it doesn't matter about prior background, it doesn't matter about prior learning, it doesn't matter about prior experience. If you want to be a paramedic badly enough, you can achieve it but you do have to be willing to put in the time and the commitment and the sacrifice to be able to achieve those earlier qualifications which will get you to where you need to be."
