SIMURG | Animation Short Film

Simurg. Short film I wanted to explore the idea of the search for the self through connecting with elements and creatures around us and realizing that everyone and everything is connected. Simurg is a Farsi mythical bird, it consists of 30 birds melded together as one. This project was inspired by the book "the conference of the birds" by Farid uddin al_Attar, a story that was told to us as children and it stayed with me to this day, I revisited it for my graduation project and drew many visual elements and symbols from it to create this short film. When viewing this try to look for the metaphors and symbols hidden throughout, and maybe tell me what you've found XD. I've encountered many obstacles making this, from technical and creative problems to bigger life problems that set me back when making it, to the point where I've had to cut it down to 2:42 mins when it was supposed to be 4:00 mins, and I haven't had time enough to correct the many mistakes I can see in this project. But oh well Anyways, enjoy!
