Hello Gavelers, We had a wonderful meeting last night! It was great to see all of you — we are so proud of your progress. Keep attending, keep trying, and keep learning. Meeting Review Thank you all for taking on meeting roles! Ryan opened the meeting as our Chair. We loved your personal story that connected so well with the meeting theme. Derek H. delivered an excellent speech about fake fish — very informative! You explained fish fraud, environmental and health risks, and possible solutions clearly. Kyle shared a strong speech on how social media can benefit teenagers academically and socially—a great suggestion about allowing teens under 18 to use it responsibly. Mark, as our Table Topics Master, provided fun and interesting questions. Ryan, Kyle, Derek, and Youyou participated — thank you for your courage and energy! Darek Z. and Alice gave thoughtful evaluations for Derek H. and Kyle. Your supportive feedback and suggestions were very helpful. Reanna, as General Evaluator, led the GE session confidently and reviewed the whole meeting in detail. Bonnie, in your first time as Timer, you did an amazing job keeping everyone on track. Youyou also bravely took on the Grammarian and Ah-Counter roles for the first time. It was challenging, but with more practice, you will definitely gain confidence. Last but not least, Counsellor Yang introduced the meeting etiquette and toastmaster roles, reminding us of the standard meeting rules. Thank you for guiding us! (The summary of the meeting etiquette is attached at the end) During the final part of our meeting, we held the new member induction ceremony and handed out certificates. We truly appreciate the chance to grow and learn together. Thank you everyone, for your support and welcome again to all our new members! The photo has been attached. Next Meeting Plan – Special Christmas Event Next week is our last meeting of 2025, so we want to make it extra fun! Alice and Derek H. will be hosting this special event together. Introduce each speaker using the format: Name – Title – Title – Name. Lead applause and shake hands with speakers coming on/off stage. Set a positive and respectful tone throughout the meeting. Meeting Etiquette to Promote Arrive early and be prepared. Dress appropriately. Stay within your time. Practice active listening — no interruptions or phone use. Knock on the table when someone uses the Word of the Day.
